If you can resist the urge to start belt out the rest of the song, I commend you because I DO NOT have that self control when it comes to Earth, Wind and Fire!
This post was NOT meant to jam out, but feel free. This post was meant to show you all another wreath project for the season. One thing I must add is, DO NOT sleep on the Dollar Tree; even though they’re now the Dollar and a Quarter store - won’t even discuss that 😶. I found some wonderful items to add to my wreath this year and I ABSOLUTELY love how it turned out. Have a look below!

Christmas has slowly morphed into an obsession and a "how can I outdo what I did the year before" kind of thing
As you may or may not know, last year the only thing that made it up in our home that resembled Christmas was a 4.5ft pre-lit tree for Jacob because this pregnant momma was not able to muster up the energy for anything else. However, this year - now that Jacob is 2 and Noah will be 1 a few days after Christmas - I've taken the liberty to make ornaments for their tree. I tried last year with Dixie cups, hot glue gun, prints outs and such - but Jacob stuck true to his nickname; JJ the Destroyer. My thought process was,
So, I'd searched the internet for toddler/little kid ornaments and they were either too specific to one thing, not kid friendly or too expensive. Then I saw in my saved Amazon cart a ball pit set with balls I'd been planning on getting the boys just didn't know when and that's when the light bulb went off! I eventually found (on Amazon, of course!) a count of 120 ball-pit balls for $15 that would arrive the next day- I couldn't beat it based on the results I was finding. Went to Walmart picked up a spool of yarn and pack of needles for about $1.50 each. Voila! My sweetkisses from this are that I love creating things for my boys'. I get such joy out of seeing their excitement or at least anticipating it - and that alone makes my heart melt. This was by far the easiest and fastest craft/project I've ever done. Plus, I know the boys' will enjoy just as much as I did creating it. Read below for the steps in creating ornaments for your children! Go on tell me, did you put your Christmas decorations up before or after Halloween? My fall wreath came down 10/31 and went up 11/1 - I'm just a sucker for Christmas and everything it brings with it. The joy, the laughter, the gifts, the gatherings, the eggnog, and EVEN the snow! This time of year is very special to me because it was my mothers' favorite time of year - especially Thanksgiving. By this time she had already completed most of her Thanksgiving dinner shopping and may have started prepping some things. So, I guess this is my way of keeping her traditions going and a piece of her with me. One thing she didn't do however was, decorate anything outside of the tree as I've taken interest in. I know deep down she wanted to but didn't have the time nor the patience to do it. Last year before conceiving Noah, I'd planned what I wanted our Christmas colors to be - rose gold/gold, ivory, and burlap. I'd had bulbs from my mothers' collection, I'd gone out and purchased more during the after Christmas sales - I was ready! But as the time drew closer and I grew wider with a baby that felt like a 10lb turkey before I knew it, it was December and I had nothing up. At that point, I didn't want to put up our Christmas tree but I didn't want to deprive Jacob of his 2nd Christmas. So, we went out a purchased a 4.5ft pre-lit tree - it was the most I could do being 7.5-8mos pregnant. BUT this year 2020 - with all the chaos! I. WILL. PUT. UP. MY. TREE. - and then some. Thus far,
Here's a peek at the wreath that went up 11/1, the stocking I ordered via Amazon, and the ornaments I'm making for the boys' tree. I hope you find your sweetkisses this season Stay sweet -K |
